i didn't think i'd have so much fun hanging out with her. mostly, we talked about family, friends, the usual squabbles and clashes. she talks a lot, but that's prolly normal with girls. sometimes it gets boring, then repetitive, and other times i can't help but let my mind wander somewhere else.
but then there were the silly things, just small japes that make us smile. and then they build up on themselves, and we find we are left breathless, just laughing. and laughing and laughing. in those moments, i can't even feel the distance between us at all.

we weren't really laughing at jokes. the things we find funny are.. weird. i think that if there was anybody else there sharing our conversation, or even just listening, the humor would be greatly diminished. seems to me that things two people find funny are very different from another's. and that to find some common ground, the easiest way is to look for something the both of you can laugh at.
